The Robot becomes the blueprint for an alien machine.
Will is beating Dr. Smith in an outdoor bowling match when the bowling ball explodes. After the smoke clears, it changes into a solid gold ball, which again rolls away. Smith, Will and the Robot follow it into a cave where three shrouded aliens propose to buy the Robot from them. Smith agrees, but Will does not.
The aliens warn that they will soon get the Robot one way or another. Late that night the aliens arrive for the Robot, and when they threaten to harm the Robinsons, the Robot goes with them. Don and John's search for the Robot leads them to a cave where they find the mechanical man disassembled on a table. They are given the Robot's head back and the remainder will be returned as soon as they finish studying it. Back at the Jupiter 2, John studies up on robot assembly, and the aliens soon return the remaining parts.
But as the project gets under way, various mechanical instruments go out of control. When the Robot is reassembled, it says that the aliens are evil and plan to rule the Earth by building a device that would control all machines, and the aliens have been causing all their equipment to go haywire. John figures that with such a machine, the aliens could rule the entire universe. When John and Don set out to find the alien's evil device, they find a pulsating machine in the cave and try to shoot it with their lasers.
Nothing happens. The shrouded aliens appear and explain that neither man nor machine can harm their pulsating machine. Suddenly the Robot and Will step forward. The Robot moves in and smashes the machine, whereupon the aliens disappear in a puff of smoke, leaving nothing but their shroud-like apparel. The Robot explains that when he heard the aliens say that neither man nor machine could harm their device, he assumed he could defeat the machine since he is a little of both.
Ray says:
Another good Robot story in which he is kidnapped and is returned in pieces to the Robinson's. The Robot is rebuilt and he once again saves the day by destroying the evil aliens device that they have made and foils their plan of taking over the Earth. A great ending scene, one of the very best from the series.
Another wonderful scene is where Major West and Judy play a joke on Smith with the Robots bubble acting as if the Major is the ghost of the Robot from behind a rock.
